Sunday's Gratitude Post

Aah ... the lowly electric fan.

After spending the last four days spring cleaning the garage in June temperatures, I have definitely come to realize that I take the electric fan for granted. I thought it high time to throw a little love toward the fan.

Beautiful fan. Oh windy, humming fan. How can I sing your praises? Blowing dust in my face while keeping me cool. Coveted by all wimpy, childish garage workers, who stingily cram themselves in front of the manufactured wind, hogging every last bit of the cool breeze (barbarians!). You save me from the disgrace of heat stroke, which flies in the face of my fraudulent supermomness.

Keeping electric bills low, while making me cool - nay, verily chilly - at night. Your low rumble teasing me into slumber as your choppy little blades whir tirelessly through the wee hours.

I love you so much that I carry you from room to room, always wanting you to be by my side ... um, or rather, at my front. And when we're apart, I sweat with the anticipation of standing in front of you once more.

And when your blades stand silent, your pedestal like a sentry on duty, I yearn for the remembered whir and rumble.

So I turn you on.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ...

  2. I have to run TWO of those, plus the ceiling fan, when I do the elliptical trainer in this hot room! Hooray for fans!
